I like to have something ready for the Royal Academy of Art’s annual lottery… no I actually mean Open Call. I was very lucky to have a piece shortlisted, it was my first ever attempt, part of me feels like I should have backed out after that but it’s a great opportunity to get your artworks seen by those influential sorts down in London.
You never know you may even get a sale or two and that would be really lovely. After years of teaching art and running a gallery it can be difficult to find the motivation but as someone once said ‘art is about communication, if you don’t put it up on a wall for people to see your aren’t really doing it right’
